Dilip Kumar Demise: Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan Recalls Late Actor's Generosity, Calls Him The Greatest Actor
On Wednesday, much to everyone’s dismay, one of the finest actors of Indian Cinema, Dilip Kumar left for his heavenly abode. The actor had multiple age-related health issues and had been admitted to the hospital multiple times. Before his demise, earlier in June, he was hospitalised at PD Hinduja after he complained of breathing issues. He was later diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion. His demise had everyone in shock, including the prime minister of Pakistan.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan on Wednesday recalled the generosity of the late actor, and said he was the greatest actor for his generation. The cricketer-turned-politician has always been fond of Indian cinema. Imran Khan remembered how Kumar helped raised funds for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital. He wrote, “Saddened to learn of Dilip Kumar's passing. I can never forget his generosity in giving his time to help raise funds for SKMTH when project launched. This is the most difficult time - to raise first 10% of the funds & his appearance in Pak & London helped raise huge amounts.”

His other tweet read, “Apart from this, for my generation Dilip Kumar was the greatest and most versatile actor.” SKMCH&RC, Lahore was the first project of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust, which was Imran Khan's brainchild. Mohammad Yusuf Khan aka Dilip Kumar was born in Peshawar on December 11, 1922. He moved to Mumbai in the 1930s. The former house of Dilip Kumar, called ‘House of Dilip Kumar,’ has already been converted into a national heritage monument by the Pakistan government. It is located in the Qissa Khawani Bazaar of Peshawar.

Dilip Kumar was also offered with Nishan-e-Imtiaz, the highest civilian honour of Pakistan, for his contribution to the field of arts, in 1997. The Pakistani media also has extensively covered Dilip Kumar's death.

Close family friend and aide Faisal Farooqui informed everyone about Dilip Kumar’s death. The tweet said, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return.  - Faisal Farooqui” ALSO READ: Dilip Kumar Death: The Late Legendary Actor Suffered From Advanced Prostate Cancer, Says Doctor
